Fly Fish Little J

Fishing was pleasant today. Air temps rose into the low 40's but the water was cold. Ice on the edges of the river. River was low and clear. Fish were in the obvious winter holding spots but surprisingly good numbers of fish were taken out of pocket water during the magic hours (11-1:30). After 2pm fishing really slowed down. Nymphing is the game right now, although we did see light BWO activity. Slow drifts are necessary. Fish were in good shape. If you are looking to fish over wild trout the next few months, please keep an eye out for Spawning Redds. They have been lightly covered over from recent rains. Keep an eye out!
